Ok... So we are working with a company - Hayward Performance that has been doing head work for almost a quarter century.
Together, we were contemplating pushing B18C1 heads, ported with 1mm larger valves, brand new with the option of matched Individual Throttle Bodies. (info on the ITB's here: www.haywardperformance.com). The ported head with new valves would retail in the ball park of around $1600-$1700USD.
You're wondering why the GSR head and not the B16A/B18C5 head? Well, the argument is the fact that the intake ports on the GSR head face downwards and are a direct shot (closest to vertical) into the combustion chambers, whereas the B16A/B18C5 intake ports are more horizontal. Because of this, the air flows a lot better on the GSR heads (less curves).
My question is what everyone initial thoughts are of this as a marketable product and the theory behind the differences in flow between the heads?

Sounds like something for only serious racers. Good stuff. What exactly is included ie. shipping, kind of valves, retainers, springs, etc?

Is the price that you quoted including a GSR core or must we supply a head for the port work and valves ???

The price would just be for the BRAND NEW bare ported head with new larger aftermarket valves (lighter) and new seats.
The price is just a guess at best right now... since nothing is finalized. We dont' even know if its worth pursuing at this point. Mainly just trying to see (regardless of the price) if there is interest in something like this.
Keep in mind that the GSR heads are FAR more expensive than the ITR/b16a heads from Acura.
And no cores would be required.
